Governance

Board of Trustees

Twelve trustees, drawn from current parents, alumni, and community members, are the legal and strategic guardians of BPD Academy. The Board holds the mission, approves the budget, sets tuition, oversees long-range planning, and hires (and if necessary, releases) the Head of School.

Trustees are elected by the Board itself to staggered three-year terms. The Board meets five times a year; committee work runs year-round. A faculty-elected trustee sits (non-voting) at every meeting so faculty perspective is always in the room.

Service

Interested in trustee service?

The Governance Committee reviews prospective trustees on a rolling basis. We recruit for specific skill sets each year (legal, financial, educational, advancement, and community representation) as seats rotate. Current parents, alumni, and community members who believe they can contribute are invited to share a letter of interest and a CV with the Committee Chair.
